The biopharma industry is growing rapidly and every year increasing numbers of science graduates enter the field knowing nothing except that they don’t want to work in the lab. I can empathize. This was me in 2007. Twenty-six years old and fresh out of grad school, I was guided by only my growing distaste for the lab and my love of science and technology.
Business development sounded interesting, fast-paced and something I could make a career of. By sheer determination (i.e.; dumb luck), I landed a BD job at a small biopharma company and soon after, started this blog about all things biopharma business related. It was, and still is, a vain attempt to learn to swim after having jumped in the pool.
BD in the life science industry requires the mastery of many diverse fields (e.g.; law, finance, marketing, selling and communication) that are tricky in and of themselves. This collection of links, articles, posts and the like is simply a brain dump of things I’ve found helpful in my quest to drink from the keg of biotech BD glory. The list below is a constant work in progress. Titles without links are already in the works, so check back often.
