(BioSpace) Daichii Sankyo bought German based U3 this morning for $235M (150M euro) and I think it’s a pretty good deal for Daichii. U3 is a mAb, receptor tyrosine kinase targeting company with a few candidates in preclinical studies (see below):
| Product | Description | Product Type | Status |
| U3-1287 (AMG-888) |
Receptor tyrosine kinase (HER3) |
Human antibody | Preclinical |
| U3-1565 | Receptor tyrosine kinase ligand | Human antibody | Preclinical |
| U3-1800 | Receptor tyrosine kinase | Humanized antibody | Preclinical |
| U3-1784 | Receptor tyrosine kinase | Antibody | Research |
U3 was started by Professor Axel Ullrich of the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, whose pioneering gene technology-based and oncology-focused research led to the development of the oncology blockbusters Herceptin(R) and Sutent(TM).
Can the same man hit gold twice?? I guess Daichii thinks so.
